Fabio Lo Curto started studying the clarinet at the age of 8, and at a very young age entered the V. Bellini Conservatory in Catania. He graduated there with the highest distinctions from the jury, and then went on to perfect his skills with Fabrizio. Meloni. In 2009, he was admitted to the Haute École de Musique in Geneva, where he obtained a Master's degree in Interpretation two years later in Romain Guyot's class.
He has a solid orchestral experience, and was for several years first solo clarinet in the youth orchestra "Luigi Cherubini", founded and conducted by the master Riccardo Muti, which led him to play in the biggest theaters in Europe.
Having won numerous auditions, he is regularly called upon to play in orchestras such as the RAI Orchestra in Turin, the Rome Opera, the Regional Orchestra of Tuscany, the Teatro Bellini de Catane, or the Orchester de la Suisse Romande, under the baton of great conductors such as R. Barshai, Kurt Masur, J. Temirkanov, K. Penderecki, K. Yamada, E. Krivine, W. Marshall.
He has also performed extensively in chamber music, notably in the Quintets of Mozart, Brahms, and the Quartet for the End of Time of Messiaen during the musical season of the municipal theater of Piacenza, at Ravenna Festival, at the Dubrovnik Festival (Croatia) and at the "I suoni delle Dolomiti ".
Great music lover contemporary, he participated in various international musical gatherings, and as a soloist in the contemporary art meeting "Bridge project ". Eclectic musician, and great improviser, constantly looking for new experiences, it is quite natural that he has agreed to join since 2012 the Quinteto Respiro. The whole thus finds thanks to the addition of clarinet and bass clarinet, a very original and personal way of approaching the Tango repertoire.
